Cobb), and a good scuffling celebrity (Evelyn Keyes) whose cousin (Nina Foch) worked within gambling enterprise and you may old a corrupt detective (Jim Bannon). Cobb, as the an authorities inspector, and in the get . Even though the spot follows a common pattern, the characterizations is fresh and activities sufficient in order to overbalance. Dialogue is terse and topical, avoiding the emotional, phoney touching. Strange cam bases come-along once in a while so you’re able to intensify attention and momentarily arrest the attention. Evelyn Keyes performs the great little lady just who brings about new finest in him and you can Ellen Drew is the smooth and you can slinky vixen exactly who will get your to the jams. Thomas Gomez is actually oily because villain and you will Lee J. Cobb do another able journey due to the fact an exhausted cops inspector which eventually shuts happening. A great amount of ingesting and puffing is done of the the concerned.” [ 12 ]
